I love this song, but John Waite bears a very strong resemblance to Helen Reddy in this video. I mean that in the kindest way possible.

This was the break-out hit for The Babys, a British rock group fronted by John Waite, which also includes Wally Stocker, Tony Brock, and Mike Corby. The song is about a man torn between the possibility of experiencing his great love and the fear of the consequences of its failure. It is known for its strong backup vocals performed by The Babettes, who are Lisa Freeman Roberts, Pat Henderson, Myrna Matthews, and Marti McCall.

John Waite was one of the best singers of that era. Perhaps any era.

Let's face it we all have different opinions and tastes on music, that's what makes the world go around, but surely anyone who has ever listened to contemporary music must rate this as definitive pop, it really cannot get any better in that category, can it?, out of this world

I adored this track when I was in middle school, and still love it today. I have a very specific memory of riding around in the car with my dad and siblings, and this song was on the radio. Always used to set my mind off to daydream, like a good pop tune should. :)
