The Adverts fueron una banda de punk rock inglesa formada en 1976 y disuelta en 1979. Son principalmente recordados por sus singles «One Chord Wonders» y «Gary Gilmore’s Eyes», así como por haber sido una de las primeras bandas punk inglesas en incorporar a una mujer entre sus miembros. El tema «Gary Gilmore’s Eyes» alcanzó el número uno del «top 40» británico en agosto de 1977

Miembros

T.V. Smith y Gaye Advert fueron los fundadores del grupo. T.V. Smith era cantante y guitarrista, mientras que Gaye Advert era la encargada de tocar el bajo.

El segundo guitarra era Howard Pickup, sustituido por Paul Martinez durante los últimos meses de la banda. Hubo hasta cuatro baterías: Laurie Driver, Jon Towe, Rod Latter y Rick Martinez. Los teclados corrrieron a cargo de Tim Cross.

Cast of Thousands is at least equal to Crossing. It's definitely more fully realized and feels like a true album (due to the great production and arrangements), whereas Crossing is a collection of a several great songs and some good songs. And I'd like to add here that imo all of the re-recorded singles on both albums are much better in the album versions, except for One Chord Wonders.

Cast Of Thousands is a totally underrated album. It had a strange production and some slower songs, but that makes his charms. And when i say songs i mean songs with great melody and lyrics, not that 1-2-3-4-stuff.

upon further review, "cast of thousands" is incredible, better than "crossing the red sea." both are great, but "cast of thousands" is a great album period, whereas "crossing the red sea" is merely a great punk album.
