It's a fantastic album. And yes, everybody ripped them off. They never got any credit. I think the very best thing about Tarentel is that they are not doing the start-stop-start kinda postrock like for example Magwai did on earlier releases.

You are absolutely right catachresistant. Maybe I'm just being picky. It was the first time I listened to this record and it's not their fault they were first. Still this sound has been mangled for the last decade by hundreds of bands ad nauseam, that's why I was bitching. Nonetheless it's a solid piece of good music. Too bad once these guys and Mogwai along with them got some attention everybody decided that they want to play like this. Shame.

Umm... This album came out before Mono formed.

OK, it's pretty, but sounds so damn derivative. Honestly, Mono have been playing music like this for like 10 years, not to mention Mogwai. Apart from that one might say it's a good album

This is one of the most amazing bands I have ever heard, and track 4, For Carl Sagan, is the most EPIC song I have ever heard, post rock sublime beauty at it's finest, swelling, ebbing, crescendo-laden, emotional, sweeping, ambient and experimental, this music transcends time and space and literally transports the listener...highly recommended with headphones in a dark room
