Switchfoot es una banda de rock alternativo influenciada por la fe cristiana, proveniente de San Diego, California, Estados Unidos. Alcanzaron su éxito prominente a los mediados de 2000. Según Jon Foreman, el nombre «Switchfoot» es un término utilizado en el ámbito del surf. «A todos nosotros nos encanta el surf y lo hemos practicado toda nuestra vida por lo que, para nosotros, el nombre tiene sentido. Posicionar tus pies significa tomar una nueva postura que enfrente la dirección opuesta. Se refiere al cambio y al movimiento, una manera de aproximarse a la vida y a la música.»

Last three songs on the album are amazing, atmospheric, emotional, and just deep. Love how the end of Red Eyes has the lyric from Needle and Haystack Life, perfect way to end the record.
