"HOW the hell did it take me so long to realise that the waitress on the cover is a parody of the Statue of Liberty?" God knows, but I never noticed either. I just thought that it was a normal sized woman flying in the air.

My dad loved and still loves this band, and therefore I've listened to Supertramp since I was a little kid. Great band with many memorable and catchy tunes.

Breakfast in America is still alive nowadays, and not only because the songs includes in this album are great. We are very lucky to can enjoy Roger Hodgson on stage, performing all his classics from this album, as "The Logical Song", "Breakfast In America","Take The Long Way Home", "Lord Is It Mine", "Child Of Vision" and many more. If he plays by your area, you don't want to miss him, it's really worth, because a Roger concert is an astonishing experience. I've seen so many shows in my life, but what I feel in a Roger show is unique, I haven't seen ever such a communication between an Artist and his audience, as Roger does, all the feelings you can experienced: It's a thrill, a blast, chills and goosebumps, all at the same time...

I clearly remember as if it were yesterday that I would play my Breakfast in America vinyl over and over. I found myself drawn to the songs from the band's co-founder, Roger Hodgson. I later found out that although Roger and Rick shared writing credit on all songs, they actually wrote and composed separately and each of them sang the songs they wrote. Imagine what a blessing it was for me when 30 years later I was able to see Roger in concert for the first time. It was as if I was listening to my vinyls all over again except he actually sounded better live, if that's possible! His voice is incredible and what a sweet change it is to see an artist who is smiling and obviously enjoying himself. I have now seen Roger six times and each show is unique and special in its own way. Don't hesitate to see Roger Hodgson, Supertramp's voice and singer/songwriter of their greatest hits. I can't wait to see him again. See all of his tour dates on Events at

One of my "desert island" albums, love Roger Hodgson's "The Logical Song", "Take the Long Way Home", "Child of Vision", "Lord is it Mine" and "Breakfast in America", and he still performs them all today with vivacious energy...his backing band is very close knit, jaw-dropping and unforgettable performances - simply love Roger's warm, uplifting charisma and he fully puts himself into his concerts. I've already got tickets for his Seattle area show (Snoqualmie, WA) in July and his Chicago area (Naperville) show also in July!! It's going to be a whale of a time!! There are more tour dates on his official site,

My friend said his mum listened to this album back in the day and loved it, so I gave it a chance. I love this album, especially "Goodbye Stranger".

This is an expression of life. The intensity of life continues thru generations. This song always bring back we don't change life. We live it again and again, generations on will always feel this connection with these words and the notes of the music will remind the future. "Take the long way home".... Such an achievement from a young group!!!

@prominence_la: i think it's their definitive album too. And coming from a graphic design background, i love the clever passenger seat view of that pseudo-cafeteria "Statue of Liberty" skyline. :)
