Summoning es una banda austriaca de Black Metal Sinfónico. Su estilo ha sido descrito como «Black Metal / Tolkien Folk», ya que las letras de la mayor parte de sus álbumes hacen referencia al mundo mitológico de J.R.R. Tolkien.
Summoning fue formado en 1991 por Silenius (Michael Gregor), Protector (Richard Lederer) y Trifixion (Alexander Trondl). Trifixion abandonó el grupo tras la grabación del disco Lugburz.

~ Silenius: bajo, voz y teclado.

@DEATHINFIREX: Oath Bound is kind of overrated but still a very good album. Stronghold is probably their worst album. LMHSYF and Dol Goldur should have more spots on the top 15.
