This album was the portal for me into more "grown up's music". I actually struggled liking it at about 14yo, when it suddenly grew on me and the song I hated the most "St. Augustine in hell" is my favourite on the album. It also opened my ears to complex time signatures through my older brother introducing the various songs to me. "Listen to Vinnie Colaiuta and his details", this guy played with Frank Zappa. 10 years + I'm into prog, but also Jazz.

Maybe his best album but far from one of the best albums of the 90s

This and The soul cages are the best albums recorded in the 90's. Love the whole-wide-world-jazz sound in them

can't say i'm much of a fan of the tantric love machine, but whenever anything from this album comes up, it consistently sounds bloody good. it has aged a tiny bit, but the songs are so solid it really gets away with it. one of the most nicely put together albums of the 90's.

sting's best album and also one of the best albums of the nineties, which culled a few gems in electronica as well, but sting's contribution to the nineties was a crown of studio and musical insight glory, period.

From Wikipedia: "The cover of the album was photographed at Wardour Old Castle in Wiltshire, England, featuring Hrímnir, an Icelandic horse Sting owned for a period." HOLY FUCK, SHIT, AND ANY CURSE WORD THAT EXISTS IN THIS FUCKIN WORLD! AN ICELANDIC HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH}!!!!!!!!!

I thought using Shape of My Heart at the end of The Professional was really fitting. I appreciated the track more after I noted that.
