Heavy Metal Rules Angie. This however is not Heavy Metal. It's just Stills playing some nice licks.

The crowning jewel on Manassas' debut, no doubt.

This is one that you can't forget. Looking for something superficial? This isn't it.

Awesome tune. Stephen at his best! After this album came out we all thought Mananas would just take over for the broken up C,S,N&Y.

Back to Stephen Stills.... Heavy metal material. Not what I am used to from this talented musician. Only mediocre for me I'm afraid. I need a lie down after reading bigsilverbullets shout..... only joking...honestly. Sorry bigsilverbullet. It's a masterpiece shout!

Saving the best for (nearly) the last, Stephen Stills ends the brilliant Manassas album with easily the most representative song that captures the band's incredible diversity. Welding blues, hard rock, country, funk, Latin, and folk elements into one cohesive song, "The Treasure" is a brilliant in the studio recording that allows the entire band to flex their individual and collective muscle, and with fabulous results. Extremely well-structured and arranged, the song has distinct verses and chorus patterns, and then digresses into a scintillating blues shuffle jam which is led by a fine, funky Stills wah-wah electric guitar riff. The interplay between Stills and pedal steel player Al Perkins is a once in a lifetime treat. The lyrics of the song are perfect for this ambitious outing, as they eloquently celebrate the muse and creative process of music.
