Star One originalmente fue el nombre del disco lanzado en el 2002 por el gran músico holandés Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Este proyecto surgió por dos razones, la primera era que Arjen quería lanzar un disco más simple y más metalero de lo que usualmente hace con su banda principal Ayreon. La segunda era hacer una especie de tributo a sus series y películas de ciencia ficción favoritas. El disco resultó ser todo un éxito, decidieron hacer una pequeña gira en el 2003 y grabar el último show. Además de los temas del Star One, Arjen aprovechó para montar algunos temas de Ayreon, que por su enorme cantidad de músicos invitados entre ellos el gran sir russell allen vocalista de symphony x …
