Annie Clark, born c. 1982 (September/October[1]) in Tulsa, Oklahoma is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who performs using the moniker St. Vincent. She was most recently a member of The Polyphonic Spree and appears on their album The Fragile Army. She has opened shows for such acclaimed and diverse acts as The National, Television, Arcade Fire, Briertone, Jolie Holland, John Vanderslice, Midlake, Tracy + the Plastics, Tuck & Patti and Xiu Xiu, and was a part of Sufjan Stevens’ touring band in 2006.
In 2006 she released an EP to coincide with her European tour supporting Sufjan Stevens. Entitled Paris Is Burning, it contains three tracks including a treatment of Nico’s original imagining of «These Days».
