Adele Bethel y David Gow eran músicos de gira de Arab Strap cuando decidieron formar su propia banda junto a Ailidh Lennon y Scott Paterson. Los cuatro de Glasgow debutaron con ‘’Love The Cup’’ (03), un año más tarde reeditado por el exquisito sello Domino rendido ante sus salvajes encantos. Con su siguiente álbum, ‘’The Repulsion Box’’ (06), Sons & Daughters ahondaron en su espíritu indómito, en su blues-punk nutrido por el rockabilly con guiños a su herencia celta y salpimentado con los juegos vocales chico/chica entre Adele y Scott. Alabados por Nick Cave o Franz Ferdinand, consolidados como una de las propuestas más personales de los últimos años, para su tercer álbum decidieron dar un giro a su sonido siguiendo su devoción por bandas como The Smiths o Blondie. Para lograrlo han reclutado como productor al gran Bernard Buttler (Suede). El resultado, ‘’This Gift’’ (08), es su mejor trabajo hasta la fecha. Potenciando el rol de Adele como frontwoman y dando a todo el álbum un pálpito vigoroso y acelerado, Sons & Daughters se han ganado nuestra entrega.
