Solvent es Jason Amm, compositor de música para robots que llegan a ser sentimentales, fetichista del sintetizador antiguo, y co-fundador del sello Suction Records. Nació en Zimbabwe en 1972, y actualmente reside en Toronto, Canadá.
Solvent lleva desde 1997 haciendo música demasiado humana para llamarla simplemente idm, y demasiado inteligente para llamarla pop, como un bendito hijo espiritual de Kraftwerk debería de hacerla.
