In regards to the mastering, the Maor Appelbaum mastering of the album (which I believe Sigh intended to release at first) is not as muffled. Closer to what Sigh envisioned I guess.

This is a great fucking album that I sorta forgot about in the flurry of crazed schoolwork that was January 2010. But upon rediscovering this album, it is some fucking good shit.

REAL metal avant-garde. Can anyone tell me: are the symphonic parts sampled from some classical works (if so - from which?) or are they conducted by Mirai?

The production is intentional. I personally enjoyed this album.

It sounds kinda muffled... great songwriting, though.

Surely this album is awsome, but Hangman's Hymn is better by far. The productions of Scenes From Hell could be better.

L'art de Mourir, Musica in Tempora Belli and Vanitas are some of their finest.

haha, this shit's pretty rad, though i kinda wish they woulda turned down the orchestration just a notch in the mix.

I was introduced to Sigh via Hangman's Hymn like 2-3 months ago, so I'm still sort of new to them. I really dig the new album, but I had to allow myself to adjust a bit at first. Not complaining though, it's pretty damn awesome. It sounds more authentic, more... old school. Can't quite put my finger on it. Absolutely enjoyed the brass/string parts in the album, especially in L'art de Mourir.

Didn't really dig it that much at first, but now I do. It reminds me of Scenario IV: Dread Dreams a lot, and that's a great album.

If this year is going to be full of albums better than this then I'd say 2010 will be a damn fine year.
