Shpongle es un proyecto musical conformado principalmente por Simon Posford (un músico pionero inglés productor de música electrónica, también conocido por otro de sus trabajos musicales bajo el nombre Hallucinogen, así como algunos más de menor fama) y Raja Ram (nacido en 1941 en Australia). Shpongle se puede considerar principalmente como un proyecto de música electrónica experimental, tratando de integrar variados elementos sonoros en algunos casos disímiles… , como lo son en efecto el flamenco, la música hindú y la opera, pero siguiendo principalmente la línea que establecen géneros musicales relacionados dentro de la rama principal de la cual deriva este trabajo, como lo son el ambient, goa trance, breakbeat, y drum and bass. Tal obra ha tradado de ser descrita como «ambient psy» experimental, aunque se le relaciona comunmente con el goa trance y a su vez con el psychedelic trance en vista de la autoría que han tenido tanto Simon Posford como Raja Ram creando música relacionada a ese estilo, y del conocimiento que ha alcanzado este trabajo por las personas afectas a tal genero musical.
Shpongle ha publicado tres álbumes. El primero es «Are You Shpongled?» de 1998, el segundo «Tales of the Inexpressible» de 2001, y el tercero «Nothing Lasts…But Nothing Is Lost» publicado en junio de 2005.

Tales is probably the best album to start with. If you don't like that, you won't like the rest (and you probably don't like the sun either then). Although there are certainly good arguments for discovering them chronologically too. PS: completely GESCHTONKENFLAPPED
