Sex Gang Children fue una banda pionera del rock gótico que se formó en Gran Bretaña a principios de los ‘80. Era uina banda muy teatral, cuyas características más sobresalientes eran un bajo potente, percusión tribal, rápidos cambios de climas, un sonido retro que se adelantó en varios años al nacimiento del «dark cabaret» como género y uno más de los varios cantantes góticos que hicieron escuela con su dramático tono vocal. Aunque en su época clásica sólo llegaron a grabar un solo album, sus singles y otras rarezasa fueron compilados formando varias recopilaciones, que los llevaron a un status de culto como una de las bandas más reconocidas de la escena del Batcave londinense.
