But when Kissin plays Rachmaninoff no one tags the music as Kissin... but Rachmaninoff... Many people who do not know the composer will start to believe that it's Rachmaninoffs work... Poor Liszt has few great compositions, I wouldn't like him to be forgotten...

I agree with zzdenek31 comment on december 2008. Why is it so important that rachmaninoff only plays his own creations. I'm sure back before the ability to record music, that other musicians/composers played other composers work. Plus come on rachmanioff plays this piece beautifully.

It's Liszt's but it's played by Rachmaninoff (I guess) and the cadence is by Rachmaninoff (I guess).

Other people has corrected your credits. The HUNGARIAN RHAPSODY is due to Franz LISZT, not to RACHMANINOFF. You should correct it.

read the album title people, it's piano transcriptions., it's Rachmaninoff playing other works besides his own masterpieces. His interpretation is wonderful, and has set a standard for how this piece is to be performed. Most virtuousos these days tend to follow his example.

And it is a wonderful playing, better than the original orchestral version. Why is it so important to some people that Rachmaninov plays only his own compositions? This album is about piano transcriptions.

These recordings are Rachmaninov PLAYING compositions that are not his own. He was a pianist as well as a composer, and he worked recently enough that there are recordings of him playing his own works as well as others'.
