Seabound fue creado en 1995 por Frank Spinath y Martin Vorbroot Se decidieron por el nombre Seabound influidos por el amor de Spinath por el mar y el hecho de que Vorbroot nació cerca de la orilla. El nombre también implica un buque que sale de un puerto seguro hacia los mares desconocidos y a veces traidoras; una metáfora de la misma banda. Para los conciertos en vivo son apoyados por Daniel Wehmeier en la batería.
