Savatage es una banda de heavy metal progresivo fundada por los hermanos Jon y Criss Oliva en 1979. La banda es conocida por grabar varios albumes conceptuales. Aunque fueron conocidos principalmente como banda de metal progesivo, sus origenes se acercan más al heavy metal clásico y al power metal, sobretodo en su album de debut «Sirens». La banda ha estado inactiva desde que lanzaron su último album en 2001, y no han tocado en directo juntos desde 2002. Sus miembros se han concentrado en sus proyectos en solitario, o en grupos paralelos, como Circle II Circle, Jon Oliva’s Pain o Trans-Siberian Orchestra, donde militan casi todos los miembros de Savatage.
