Saosin es una banda Post Hardcore originaria de Newport Beach, California , fue creada en el año 2003 y son los antiguos miembros de la banda Open Hand.


Saosin se formó el año 2003 y al poco tiempo lanzaron su primer EP titulado Translating the Name el cual fue lanzado bajo el sello Death Do Us Part. El vocalista Anthony Green, después de lanzar el EP dejo la banda y actualmente esta en la banda Circa Survive. Después de grabar muchos Demos, Cove Reber fue el nuevo vocalista de la banda.

En 2004 el bajista Zach Kennedy abandonó la banda y fue reemplazado por Chris Sorenson.

Durante el 2005 la banda participo en el Warped Tour, durante el cual grabaron el video de la canción «Bury Your Head». Firmaron con el sello Capitol Records y lanzaron su primer disco titulado Saosin, el cual vendió 35.000 copias en su primera semana en los Estados Unidos.

Cuando terminaron el Tour Taste of Chaos, comenzarón un tour por los Estados Unidos, junto a las bandas Bleeding Through y Senses Fail, el cual comenzo el 24 de Noviembre.

Saosin fue seleccionado por «KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas» para presentarse el 9 de Diciembre del 2006.

    To say that the debut album isn't post-hardcore is quite silly. Sure ISOSG is an alt. rock album. But c'mon. There's too much "elitism" going on here anyway. Pointless elitism at that, it's not like old Saosin is very underground or exclusive or anything.

    'on my own', 'why can't you see' and 'i keep my secrets safe' are all post-hardcore. the rest of isofg sounds like alternative rock to me. ttn was pro but get the fuck over it. as soon as cove joined the band they pretty became a different band.

    nit picking over subgenres is like arguing over a girl at prom as her date takes her to the dance floor. It seriously does not matter. They were fantastic at the Masquerade in ATL yesterday. Not even 4 kicks in the back of the head by crowd surfers and a a lighting unit flying at me ruined my enjoyment. Oh and a sorry to the singer, we were statues because we made a bet we could make the bands feel weird being statues up front and center. It really worked with the band that has the Avril Lavigne/Abe Lincoln/+200lbs singer. Their country star guitarist that was only missing a cowboy hat wasn't too happy with us either

    @Hardcorey1990 it's an elitist thing I think. They now make really good lite post hardcore. I think their latest album has some of their best songwriting in to-date. Their sound with Anthony was much more raw, but they've got such a great, polished sound now, it's like putting golden syrup in my ears (without any of the annoying consequences).

    my all time favourite band... saw them live on 12-12-2005 first and it was amazing.. the 2nd times was on ToC in '06.. they supported taking back sunday.. justin played lead guitar and cove helped adam with the vocals.. even spencer from underoath screamed.. it was an amazing night.. unfortunately there are no videos.. :(
