La banda se formó a principios de los 90’s debido al «aburrimiento». Alrededor de 1995, ganaron un concurso estilo «batalla de las bandas» y fueron premiadas con la oportunidad de grabar sus canciones en un estudio. Su debut EP, «Suits Anyone Fine», salio a la venta en 1997, tuvo un éxito inmediato y la aclamación de la crítica en Europa. Poco después, la banda firmó con la discografía sueca Speech Records, y en los siguientes dos años sacaron a la venta otros tres singles, Face Wet, Oh Darling, y Nothing Yet. En 1999 lanzaron su primer álbum de estudio titulado C’mon Let’s Pretend que ganó dos candidaturas a los Grammis.
The Drive Dead Slow EP apareció en abril de 2000, publicado por BMG, antes de que el segundo álbum de la banda Jennie Bomb (nombre de Jennie Asplund) fuera publicado en 2001 (2002 en América). El momento de su lanzamiento coincidió con un aumento de interés en bandas de rock de Suecia, como The Hives, Mando Diao y Hellacopters. Las canciones «On Top Of Your World» y «With Or Without Control» se publicaron como singles. «Alright Alright (Here’s My Fist Where’s The Fight?)» se ha utilizado en Jackass como banda sonora.
Su tercer álbun de estudio fue publicado en 2004 y se llamó Kiss & Tell y sus singles fueron Hot Night Crash y Who Do You Dance For?. En Abril del 2007 sacaron a través de MySpace un single titulado «Cheek a Cheek» de su cuarto álbum de estudio «What If Leaving Is a Loving Thing on Stand By». Su quinto álbum, «Sparks», fue publicado en febrero de 2009 y su primer sencillo es In Private.
