I don't have a good history with trying to see Unearth. As my 17th most listened to band of all time it's understandable to think it's unusual that I've only seen them once, for ten minutes.
I had tickets to their UK tour last year, only to find their London date cancelled without explanation, while fringe venues such as Portsmouth remained unaffected. Disapppointing. I had specifically intended to catch their full set at Download 2010 but due to traffic problems only caught their final two tracks.
Therefore I ensured I was down nice and early for the gig last night to take it all in. Plus two of the three support bands were ones I hadn't seen before, which is a rare occurance for me so I felt it a nice opportunity to soak in some new music.
Romeo Must Die were first on playing to a tiny crowd who had entered the venue shortly after doors. There may have only been a handful of people against the rails and no real "pit" to speak of (yet)…
