Rachel Stevens nació el 9 de Abril de 1978 en Inglaterra. Es una cantante pop que ocasionalmente trabaja como modelo y actriz. Formó parte del exitoso grupo teen S Club 7, y tras su disolución firmó un contrato de 1,5 millones de Libras con Polydor Ltd. UK, convirtiéndose en la primera componente en publicar en solitario.

Su primer single fue «Sweet Dreams My LA Ex», publicado en Septiembre del 2003. El single fue un hit en UK, debutando en el #2 en las listas de venta inglesas, compitiendo con el hit «Where’s The Love» del grupo norteamericano The Black Eyed Peas. Rachel se inspiró de la música R&B de los grupos más recientes como TLC y Sugababes, y el estilo más adulto de la música pop de Madonna y publicó su primer álbum «Funky Dory» un més después. El álbum tuvo un éxito menor, llegando al #9 en las listas de ventas inglesa y cayendo rápidamente en su segunda semana, llegando al #58, y al #91 en la tercera.

En Diciembre, su segundo single titulado «Funky Dory», fue un fracaso, llegando al #26 y rápidamente desapareciendo de las listas de ventas de UK. En Julio del 2004, Rachel publicó un nuevo single: «Some Girls», que fue un gran éxito tanto en el Reino Unido como en Europa. Este single alcanzó el #2 en UK. La crítica lo aclamó argumentando que era el mejor single que Rachel había hecho en toda su carrera hasta la fecha. Durante el lanzamiento y éxito de «Some Girls», el álbum «Funky Dory» fue reeditado, incluyendo éste y un nuevo single: «More, More, More».
