En 1981, fruto de una colaboración con David Bowie, sacan a la venta la canción «Under Pressure» , alcanzando el número uno. En 1982 publican el álbum «Hot Space», duramente criticado por algunos por acercase demasiado a un sonido «disco». Del disco se editaron 3 sencillos en el Reino Unido (sin contar Under Pressure). Las canciones fueron Body Language, Las Palabras de Amor y Back Chat, y de las 3 solo Las Palabras De Amor ha sido incluída en un Greatest Hits, el tercero, aunque Body Language fue incluida en una de las ediciones para Estados Unidos del recopilatorio Greatest Hits I.
