Protest the Hero (abreviado como PTH ó simplemente Protest) es una banda canadiense de Whitby, Ontario. Se caracteriza por mezclar con . Lo que mas resalta en una primera escucha es el registro del vocalista, puede hacer tanto gritos , como voces guturales y melódica. El resto de los integrantes de la banda tampoco se quedan atrás, todos demuestran una gran técnica con sus instrumentos.

Formada en 1999 bajo el nombre Happy Go Lucky, su primer trabajo como Protest The Hero fue A Calculated Use of Sound EP (2003) y luego realizaron su primer album Kezia (2005) bajo el sello Underground Operations. En Enero de 2006 la banda firmo con Vagrant Records para la publicación de Kezia en los Estados Unidos. Kezia fue lanzado en US el 4 de Abril de 2006.

En 2008 sacan Fortress, el cual recibe muy buenas críticas en los medios especializados.

I think that Protest The Hero has never had the best harsh vocals but they aren't bad and there is definitely wayyy worse out there.
