  • PLACEBO, 30stm and The Words

    13 Ago 2011, 12:55 de o_rety

Czw 11 VIII – Stuttgarter Sternstunden

It happend. It's so hard to believe in, but it really did.
    I saw Placebo live.
And it was better than I could have ever expected.

About a month before the show, Polish fans from PFWW decided to go to Stuttgart to see Placebo onstage again after a long break. It was their only festival show in 2011, they're not on tour now. We started the preparations and on 10th August me and 49 other Placebo and 30stm fans went on our beautiful journey together. We spent about 13 hours in our bus and about 8 am finally arrived in Stuttgart. We started queueing very early when there was almost no one else, but it was so worth it.
Me and my friend saw Stefan Olsdal in the street, we were about 2 meters away from him, but we acted so fucking stupid and freaked out and didn't dare say a thing...
At 4 pm they started letting people in, and, really, I didn't know that I can run SO fast. We had to run across the whole place…

Yeah, today is the birth day and I've already got one year. I mean, one year on last.fm! Time's running up so fast...

So let's see - what happened in this year? On my last.fm's account, I mean...
    http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2307/97539002.png
Today I've got 27 333 plays and it makes 75 tracks per day (and unfortunately it's still declining - where is my time for music? :(). There are 394 artists in my library and... who is first? I know, that you know it, so say it! Yes, it's my beloved alt rock band Placebo! Check it out.
    01. Placebo - 10 624 plays
    02. Muse - 1 327 plays
    03. The Veils - 877 plays
    04. The Shins - 742 plays
    05. MGMT - 601 plays
    06. Travis - 576 plays
    07. Patrick Wolf - 509 plays
    08. David Bowie - 470 plays
    09. Kasabian - 418 plays
    10. R.E.M. - 377 plays

And now I think it's time to present my tags. indie definitely rocks, but rock, indie rock (feel the difference!) and alternative also hold themselves well.

  • ROCK AM RING Festival 2009 - REVIEW

    9 Jun 2009, 23:56 de rockjournal

ROCK AM RING Festival 2009 - REVIEW

    Thursday:

We arrived at thursday at Rock am Ring and found a place for our tents on B2a - the clocest camping site to the festival area :P On thursday there was the Ringrocker.com Warm Up Party and we went to see:

Edge of Thorns: boring because I hate metal music

Mambo Kurt: weird but funny but it's not really music

    Friday:

    Expatriate: was ok.

Scouting for Girls: Very good. Highlight: "Keep On Walking"

Juliette Lewis: very nice. she is very powerful and entertaining. good voice.

Selig: first highlight of the festival. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Very good quality music and they showed nice art videos to the music on stage. Also a very nice atmosphere in the audience. Highlights: "Sie hat geschrien"

Razorlight: It was the forth time I've seen them live (always by happenstance). Not as annoying as they used to be on the "Ode To Ochrasy Tour" with Mando Diao in 2006 but still quite boring.

  • Siesta! @ Markan Hässleholm

    30 May 2009, 18:03 de diadara

    Siesta!

Wow, how to review this awesome night, there are really no words.

We (me, my bf and my daughter) arrived at 3.30 pm and walked straight towards the sound of music, which was coming from the Playa stage. We were festival hungry and wanted to dive into the Siesta! spirit right away. The first band we enjoyed was Expatriate from Australia. The perfect opening for us, pure rock 'n' roll from the heart. Funny thing, the singer looked alot like another famous australian lead singer, the late Michael Hutchence from INXS.

Next up was the Swedish band Wrestling With Angels, performing indoors on the Casa stage. Awesome sound, especially the instrumental crescendos that actually made me consider wearing earplugs. Not that it was bad, but sure as hell noisy. And as I said before, awesome. Thanks for a great gig guys!

After that we browsed through the four stages waiting for Adiam Dymott. Listened to the soundcheck which gave us a hint of what what was coming. It's amazing how much sound can come out of this petit girl. …

  • Top 50 quiz

    22 Oct 2008, 3:10 de haylo75

I rarely post much on anything, but I'm bored and this looked like a cool quiz. Actually, music is the only thing that has been a stalwart part of my existence since I can remember. With that said, my answers to this quiz might will meander into tangential territory. Anyone who knows me knows that when I get around to doing something like writing crap down, I don't see the point in fucking around. You have been warned. :D Funny thing is, I doubt anyone (I know) will ever read this, but I guess I'll join the 99.999% of people who post shit that does nothing more than occupy space on some hard drive.

I hope pessimystica doesn't mind my repurposing her post.

1.How did you get into 29?
    Echo & the Bunnymen
I am retarded for not listening to this band very much in the 80's. I heard The Killing Moon at the beginning of one of the best films ever, Donnie Darko. I really loved the song, but largely ignored the band for a few years, then went on a spree in 2006 that still rears its head from time to time. …
