Panic at the Disco, es una banda formada en Estados Unidos que mezcla sonidos como el Rock, el Techno, el Folk y el Indie. Actualmente se encuentra integrada por Brendon Urie, y Spencer Smith, tras anunciarse el 6 de julio de 2009 la partida del guitarrista y letrista Ryan Ross y el bajista Jon Walker a causa de diferencias en preferencias musicales.
Originalmente, Panic! at the Disco (con signo de exclamación integrado) estuvo formada por cuatro jóvenes procedentes de Las Vegas, NV. Fue fundada por los amigos de infancia Ryan Ross en la guitarra y los teclados y Spencer Smith en la batería; y más tarde se le unieron Brent Wilson tocando el bajo y Brendon Urie como vocalista, aparte de tocar instrumentos como la guitarra, el piano y el acordeón. Lograron firmar su primer contrato musical al enviarle una petición a Pete Wentz vía LiveJournal, y éste al notar el original sonido de la banda se trasladó rápidamente a la ciudad de Las Vegas para oírlos en persona y luego firmarlos bajo su sello discográfico decaydance y así producir su primer trabajo discográfico «A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out» en el 2005. Su álbum debut fue dividido en dos partes, una en la que predominan los ritmos futuristas y los sintetizadores y otra en la que destacan fragmentos acústicos, el piano y el acordeón.
