This should be played by an orchestra at the Proms. Extraordinary, utterly heartbreaking yet tinged with optimism

By day and night, fancy electronic dishes are trained on the heavens. They are listening for smudged echoes of the moment of creation. They are listening for the ghost of a chance. They may help us make sense of who we are and where we came from; and, as a compassionate side effect, teach us that nothing is ever lost.

I've just met someone. We're about the 8 minute mark, in terms of using this song as a map of a relationship, of a life. You know all the rest of it is coming, the longing, the heartache, but somehow you're happy just to exist within that sweetness for the moment. There is almost no other song that means as much to me right now.

Often one finds oneself listening to the title-track of an album almost 10 times before going on with the rest of the album. But the title track usually isn't 22 minutes long. I've never been a fan of the PS, but this solo album my McAloon is one of my absolute favorites within music.

I was sat on a 5 hour train journey when this track randomly played on my iPod and there are very few words that can decribe how enchanting it is. I had to play it over and over. A true find!

that was just astonishing. a fragmented yet profound narrative that transcends poetry, set against a lush orchestral backdrop. hauntingly beautiful if melancholic. my hat's off to you, Mr McAloon.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. 22 minutes long, and I never get tired of it.
