Orphaned Land, es una banda de metal progresivo de Israel, su musica contiene elementos de la musica tradicional de medio oriente, su nombre anterior fue «Resurrection» en 1991, depues cambio a Orphaned land, nombre que tiene un significado muy profundo relacionado con su identidad cultural y sus tradiciones. Orphaned land ha fusionado el Doom y el Death Metal, asi como la musica folcklorica de medio oriente que, predomina sobre las raices de heavy metal en el resultado final, algo que fascina o no agrada a quienes escuchan.
El primer album de la banda fue «Sahara»(1994) originalmente un demo, el segundo album «El norra alila» (1996)tiene incluso mas influencia folcklorica oriental, incluye canciones cantadas en piyyut, que son melodias liturgicas judias y también incluyen melodias arabes.
El tercer album «Mabool» (2004) The Story of the Three Sons of Seven», el nombre hebreo para una gran inundacion, tardaron siete años para producirlo y es una verdadera obra de arte, incluye instrumentos orientales, dos coros, cantos tradicionales y versos biblicos tomados de la historia del diluvio, leidos por el vocalista kobi Farhi.
Luego de seis años de silencio, los maestros metálicos de Israel, Orphaned Land, lanzará su tan esperado cuarto álbum de estudio producido por Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR se pone a la venta el 25 de enero de 2010, mientras que en Estados Unidos saldrá hasta el 9 de febrero de ese año.

My musical analysis of the trailer: - 0:00-0:20 - Shlomit's famous A'Salk plus Amasefferish atmospheric effects; 0:20-0:29 - "From Broken Vessels", guitar and keys and vocals sound 100% like Steven Wilson's stuff; 0:29-0:44 - Mabool is back; 0:44-1:03 - Mabool is really back; 1:03-1:15 "From Broken Vessels" again; 1:15-1:43 - the richest rendition of "Sapari", with wonderful Shlomit's voice and Arabic violin.
