First name: Wu-Tang. Last name: Forever.
Ol' Dirty Bastard was a rock star. Rappers don’t OD—rock stars OD—because rappers tend to get shot before they have the chance. That, and often, the only drugs rappers can afford is weed after buying all those shiny useless things and “making it rain.” But ODB didn’t have a lot of shiny useless things. He had a lot of children (thirteen), coke, and Tramadol. Also, the first two initials in his name—OD. Let’s face it, ODB had to OD.
Of course, drug abuse and psychological issues weren’t his only friends. He also had the RZA, the GZA/Genius, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa. Together, they formed the Wu-Tang Clan in the early 90s, created one of the most classic rap debuts ever, and followed with numerous critically and/or commercially acclaimed group and solo efforts, creating a lasting cultural impact.
23 Jul 2011, 23:56 de thomas10This is an article in which I tried to bundle all the great losses of rock'n roll and modern music. That means all the musicians which are worldwide known and died at young age (before 51 years old). I tried to give a little information about the way they died. Most of the information I got from Wikipedia. When someone thinks I forgot an artist or that the information is incorrect... I'm open for new information.
The list is in order of age of dying
For the artists older than 36 I'll recommend you Pt 2;
Ritchie Valens (1941-1959)
Plane crash. After a winning cointoss and despite of his fear to fly, together with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, he flew out of the Mason City airport in a small plane that Holly had chartered. The plane flew into a blinding snowstorm and crashed shortly after takeoff. This is known as "The Day The Music Died".

Hip Hop is supposed to be about creativity and having a good time, not worrying about what the public has to think about your craft and not being money orientated...and the images from above are from southern hip hop. (David Banner - Ain't Got Nothing)
I made this list a while ago and I left a lot out because it's only the highlights and "new listener friendly" - i.e. I didn't add too many Biggie/Big Pun/Big L tracks due to the ill concepts and cussing. Nor did I add the more famous tracks that everyone seems to know (from N.W.A.'s and Wu-Tang's first album). If I said rap/hip hop was an acquired taste, I would be lying.

to be honest, really powerful/memorable vocalists have the strongest influence on whether or not I'll like a band or artist. here are my favourites:
Geoff Rickly (Thursday)
the most beautiful
John K. Samson (The Weakerthans)
I'd want him to read to me before bed
Sue Tompkins (Life Without Buildings)
my favourite rappers really stand out. like, you totally recognize their voice...
...the second you hear it
