Lol I scrolled down looking for some opinions on the song/band and instead see a bunch of Christian diatribes. You guys are fun.

It doesn't make me sick, I laugh at religion. I love me some Norma Jean though.

Ghandi said that he would be a Christian if it weren't for the Christians in the world. It truly pisses me off when I see that people claiming Christianity are not living that life. And that points the finger at myself too. I am by no means the poster child for Christianity. But it truly and deeply upsets me that people who proclaim Christ as their Lord and Savior but are hypocrites and blaspheming Christ. I'm still working on that myself as well. It's truly a shame that some "Christians" ruin it for the rest of us and it's a shame that the vast majority of the "lost" people of our generation and the generations before see the people who say "God Hates Fags" and other blatantly stupid things as the representation of MY God. It makes me SICK.

I agree with jemcmichael. They are the type of Christians who ruin it for the rest of us. It's the extremely small percentage that make the stereotypes for the entire group. I almost feel like this could be applied to people like Roper-Phelps, etc... who I feel most definitely do not represent my faith in any way, shape, or form.

xNoTransitory: IMO They're not criticizing Christianity, they're criticizing those hypocrites who claim to be christians, and think they're better than everyone else . The chalice line is actually very similar to the words of Jesus. He accused the jewish spiritual leaders of His time of being like whitewashed tombs. Pretty outside, but inside they filled with death and decay. Just a thought anyways.

Interestingly enough, I think this song is actually criticizing aspects of christianity, particularly with lines like "you've scaled the high horse", "you cleaned the outside of your chalice but it's filled with robbery and indulgence just like the rest of us" and "You wear that cross like a crown, you wear that cross like a dagger".

just because they're a christian band doesn't mean they're preaching the words of God through their music
