Formados en Miami en 1997, Nonpoint es un cuarteto interracial de metal/rap-metal alternativo que consiste de dos puertorriqueños (el cantante Elías Soriano y el baterista Robb Rivera) y dos norteamericanos (el guitarrista Andrew Goldman y el bajista KB). A veces Soriano (que es bilingüe y nativo de Nueva Jersey) canta y rapea en español, pero la gran mayoría de las letras de Nonpoint son en inglés. El nombre Nonpoint deriva de Nonpoint Factor, que era el grupo que Rivera tenía en Puerto Rico antes de mudarse al sur de Florida. Goldman y KB son ex miembros de una banda del sur de Florida llamada Fuse. El primer álbum de los Nonpoint, Separate Yourself, fue lanzado de forma independiente en 1997, y fue seguido por Struggle On Jugular en 1999 , Statement en 2000 y Developement en 2002.
