Mumm-Ra fue una banda de rock Alternativo originaria de Bexhill-on-Sea en East Sussex, Inglaterra. Su nombre proviene de un personaje de la serie de televisión animada de de los 80s, ThunderCats (que era una momia del dios egipcio Ra).
Habiendo firmado con Columbia Records en el Reino Unido, los miembros de la banda eran:
* James Arguile - Guitarra
* Niall Buckler - Bajo, voz
* James New - Voz, teclado, guitarra
* Oli Frost - Guitarra, voz
* Gareth Jennings - Batería
* Tommy B - Teclados en vivo.
Su primer lanzamiento (en Abril del 2006) fue un 7” limitadodisponible durante la gira o en Internet, que consistía de What Would Steve Do? (demo) y Song E. Cada copia incluía una postal firmada por un miembro de la banda.
El primer lanzamiento «en serio» de Mumm-Ra fue el EP Black Hurts Day And The Night Rolls On.
El EP recibió críticas favorables y encapsulaba la diversidad de la banda - desde la impredecible y esquizofrénica Song B hasta la mística The Temple.
El siguiente lanzamiento fue el sencillo Out Of The Question el 23 de Octubre de 2006, y What Would Steve Do? el 19 de Febrero de 2007.
Mumm-Ra fueron teloneros de varias bandas como The Kooks, Fields, The Automatic, Jamie T, The Longcut y The Killers.
El single She’s Got You High fue lanzado el 14 de Mayo de 7007,seguido de su álbum debut, These Things Move In Threes el 28 de Mayo de 2007.
