Modern English, originalmente conocidos como The Lepers es una banda de rock británico recordada por su canción “I melt with you“ que ha aparecido en numerosos comerciales y películas a lo largo de los años. Formada en Colchester, Essex, Inglaterra en 1977 por Robbie Grey (vocalista), Gary McDowell (guitarra, vocal), y Michael Conroy (bajo, vocal). Richard Brown (batería) y Stephen Walker (teclados) fueron los siguientes miembros en integrarse, más tarde Ted Mason y Matthew Shippley.

I saw Modern English play a venue under Koln Bhanhof in late 1982 whilst living in Germany. Robbie Grey was a real gent despite there almost being almost as many on stage as their was in the audience. Yet another deserving a bigger audience who didn't.

No, to be honest, I really don't like "I Melt With You". I'd always fast-forward my cassette whenever it played. Their less poppy and more post-punk tunes were way better, in my opinion.
