Metal Church es una banda originaria de la llamada «Bay Area» en Seattle. Formada en 1981 con el nombre de «Shrapnel» por Mike Murphy, Kirk Arrington, Craig Wells, Kurdt Vanderhoof y Duke Erickson. Mike Murphy sería reemplazado por David Wayne al poco tiempo. Su disco debut homonimo pertenece a 1984 y su ultimo trabajo «A Light In The Dark» lanzado en 2006. Sus inicios se remotan a los primeros dias del llamado «Thrash Metal». Tras un tiempo de separación y de muchos cambios perteneciente en la decada de los 90 han vuelto con 2 trabajos y se han establecido como banda de fama en Europa.
