Maybeshewill es una banda de post-rock con influencias electronicas, procedente de Leicester, Reino Unido.
El grupo fue fundado por Robin Southby & John Helps cuando estudiaban en la universidad; pronto lanzaron un EP titulado Japanese Spy Transcript bajo su propio sello: Robot Needs Home, con Tanya Byrne en el bajo y Lawrie Malen en la bateria. El EP tuvo buena acogida entre publico y critica, lo que les lleva a firmar con Field Records, bajo el cual lanzan un Split con la banda Ann Arbor.
Mas tarde, relanzaron su EP debut en Japon bajo el sello XTAL.
En Mayo del 2007, Robin Southby & John Helps junto a James Collins (tambien miembro de Fight Fire With Water) y Andy Jackson, junto a algunos musicos invitados, comienzan a trabajar en lo que sera su album debut Not For Want Of Trying, previo al debut lanzan Seraphim & Cherubim / Heartflusters que contenia 2 pistas del proximo album junto a un remix de ‘The Paris Hilton Sex Tape’, tema extraido de su EP Japanese Spy Transcript.
Not for Want of Trying, es lanzado el dia 12 de mayo del 2008. Mas tarde empiezan una gira por Reino Unido junto a worriedaboutsatan y And So I Watch You From Afar, siendo en japon acompañados por Ovum
El sitio DrownedinSound ha descrito su sonido com:
«como si Mogwai encontrara el amor en un cine, y fueran golpeados con un teclado en la cabeza».
