That's quite funny, exactly those 2 are also my least favourite songs! I really don't like them and I think they just don't fit to the overall mood, theme and songwriting of the respective album. The lyrics are just silly and reminiscent of Manowar to be honest, and the music, well it's not bad, but not really good either. And other than that...I'm not too fond of Defender and if you consider "The Circus Maximus" a Manilla Road album (which I don't), most of it is nominated too. But that's it really, I like/love pretty much every Manilla Road song.

"Crystal Logic is the perfect starting point IMO. " It don't think so at all, because it is actually different to virtually every other album. The songwriting is really catchy and Mark is singing clean most of the time, you won't find that on any other album, not even Invasion and Metal are that catchy. So I think, if someone only listens to CL and no other album, he/she will get the wrong impression of their style. It's just not representative of their typical style. I would recommend Open the Gates or The Deluge as a starting point, if you don't like those, you don't like the Road.
