Mahalia Jackson (Nueva Orleans, 16 de octubre de 1911 - Evergreen Park, 27 de enero de 1972), cantante estadounidense de gospel. Primera figura de la canción gospel, contaba con la tesitura vocálica de una contralto y estuvo entre las primeras intérpretes de espirituales en incorporar en su música elementos bluesísticos, aderezando el gospel con una sensualidad y libertad que nunca antes habían sido experimentadas en el estilo.
