One thing here, though: the song listed above as "Am I Too Blue?" is actually not that song or even Lucinda.

This is a truly wonderful album. The original songs were already great, but the reissue added several more, incl. the stand outs "Sundays" and "SAWHWWT". Not sure about why robreyes has to take a shot at 'Car Wheels...', though. That's great, too. Comparisons are odious. I'm thinking he's trying to take the "I was into her way before she became hot & trendy" approach. Don't act like a hipster. And the production is fine here, perdidocircle.

I think its the electric organ. There's an excess of electric organ on this, Sweet Old World and the Car Wheels demos -- all produced by Gurf Morlix.

This is the album that drew me into Lucinda's world. Every song on this can stand on its own merits. The only flaw is that Gurf Morlix's production sounds very much like a product of the 80's to my ear.

i'm listening AGAIN to lucinda williams's self-titled masterpiece of an album and i finally get it (i obviously got it 3 years ago, but now i really get it): this collection of songs seems ageless - and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go for 'unbeatable' any time soon - because in this mix of langour & recklessness the langour is impetuous, wilful, excitement-seeking, while the recklessness is cautious, world-weary and wise. between the adolescent langour and the adult recklessness, lucinda covered all grounds and this record won't let you escape. i love you, rough trade album.

To me, this is her definitive signature record. Crescent City, Side of the road, Just want to see you so bad, Passionate kisses, every track is awesome. Love the song sundays too.

Some may like car wheels on a gravel road... for me this is classic Lucinda....
