Luego de estudiar leyes y fallar en University College London, decidió ingresar a University Of Glasgow donde estudió filosofía (aunque no se graduó) y allí conoció al resto de los miembros de The Commotions.

If Lloyd was out fo the US Alt Country scene he'd be celebrated, in fact he's better than much of it. He continues to turn out relevant, mature music, lyrics dripping writh experience, even Lloyd had his hell raising, fucked up period. He's a bit of marmite guy, people either love or hate his voice, and not everyone appreciated his often pompous student angst writing, though he's got a lot more to draw on these days. Being fashionable is not his concern, he takes his job and his customers seriously, one of UK's most consistent and talented artists.
