  • World Gone Dead: When's it coming out, already?

Well, we've been leading you guys on for a half a year now. Here's the thing. Lately we've been saying World Gone Dead will be released in March, and now it's looking more like April. Late April.

Here's the upside: it's going to be worth the wait.

The early builds of the new mixes we've been hearing are unbelievable... I am NOT on production, so you're finally safe from my horrible lack of mixing know-how. The drums are punchy and organic, the sound is truer, everything is heavier. I want to wait until we have the final mixes in-hand before we put these new versions up on the myspace. At that point the hype machine will really start cranking into gear.

    Lich King Live

We've been doing the live shows for almost three months now and have a lot of shows coming up. The next one, on the 26th of March, is one we're very excited about: we're playing with our contemporaries and inferiors WITCHAVEN, RAZORMAZE and HATCHET. Anyone that's been following the new wave of thrash will tell you that's kinda a big show, and anyone on the east coast will tell you that a thrash show like this never happens. NEVER. This is a real anomaly, so if you're in a five-state radius, make the drive to catch this firestorm. We're planning to do a cover of a well-known song you might want to wear your dancing shoes for.

If / when you see us, look out for the new song BEHAVER. It's my opinion that this song is made for destroying live crowds. The final 35 seconds are going to leave you gasping in a cloud of your own powdered teeth. Behave yourselves.

    Interview

We did an interview with DJ Shredder of Metal Assault Radio recently. Tom, Brian and Kevin showed up and mostly just got very silly. As of this writing it's not uploaded yet but keep checking this link to hear it when it's up.

    Fourth Album update

Wait, what? Yep. We've been working on new material for the fourth album since December or so. We've got three songs in various stages of progress, and a buttload of ideas for other songs.

The Thing We Can't Talk About Yet

We can't talk about that yet.

    Tour?

That's the plan. Problem is, we haven't done this before and trying to work out the logistics is like untying a knot while standing on top of a flagpole while meteors continually crush your skull into atoms. Summer's looking good, but we'll see what happens. A good thing would be if a more experienced band stepped up into a package tour with us and handled the details like booking and all that while we watch and learn. ...Hint hint.

And, once again: The Facebook page. Become a fan.

    -------------------------

...and that's pretty much it for now. I'm sure I've forgotten something, but meh. In case you haven't heard it before, stick this in your earholes.

  • HIYA FOLKS. Thanks for withstanding the frenzy of promotion crap I've been doing recently. A number of circumstances have been aligning recently, none of them negative but having irritating side effects. In truth, Lich King's stock is shooting up right now and luck has been with us. Big things are in the works and I know I've been saying that for a while, but it's true.

So here's the bad news. World Gone Dead is getting delayed. Last you'd heard, it was coming out in mid-November. Now, it's looking like it'll be available in late January. There are two reasons. Our label dude has a trip coming up and he realized he'd only be able to process a few preorders before he has to leave for about three months. That means you couldn't have received your album until January without preordering anyway. The second reason is that we've decided to rerecord the album- the entire thing, minus solos and vocals (with luck) with the new, permanent live band. I've ditched the studio musician dicks whose arms can't stand up to heavy chugging. What with these guys being serious thrashers and now being the live band, I thought I might as well have them rerecord their parts for the album. Apparently the drummer's got some recording space and production knowledge and he can make it sound like it wasn't mixed by... y'know... me. The end result is going to be tighter and I think much better.

The above contains some of the good news. Here's more.

With the time we've got, now, we might just forge another song for the album. I'm starting to think up concepts.

Lich King live shows, teased back in late august, have been in the works since May. Not much has actually been done to further these until recently, when I shifted focus from the halfhearted studio guys Toxic Holocaust-style to this new group of guys. They're practicing feverishly, they sound great, we think alike and I no longer feel like the only member of the band. Apparently we're going to be ready for shows in December. I'm booking stuff now and hope to have some shows to announce soon. They'll mostly be in and around this area as we stretch our legs.

    We just need that bassist.

I'm officially feeling out another new wave band on whether they'd be up for a tour. So far they've ignored my message. Let's see how long they let that go before I start flinging poo.
  • If you play bass, like to thrash, can commute to the western MA area and aren't a douchebag, east coast thrash titans Lich King want to hear from you. You must have your own gear and be available to tour and travel. Live experience would be a plus.
