The Levellers son una popular banda inglesa que toca folk rock o Indie rock influenciado por el punk y la música inglesa tradicional. Tienen origen en Brighton, Inglaterra, donde el gupo fue fundado en 1988. Hay varias historias acerca de cómo obtuvieron su nombre: de los Levellers, una facción democrática radical de Oliver Cromwells New Model Army, o como una referencia a «The Level», un área de Brighton alrededor de un triángulo verde en el centro de Brighton, donde los miembros de la banda viieron o, simplemente, de acuerdo al guitarrista Simon Friend, sacaron la palabra del diccionario. Han participado en campañas contra los actos de justicia criminal y varios movimientos anticapitalistas y causas por el medio ambiente.
