Biografía
La banda citaba sus creencias cristianas como la razón por la que se reunieron. El nombre Letter Kills viene de Corintios 2 3:6 - «for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life»
Su primer álbum, The Bridge, fue puesto a la venta el 2 de julio de 2004. De este CD se vendieron alrededor de 200.000 copias.
La banda se separó en 2006.
Después, el cantante Shelton Mateo regresó a su ciudad natal de Fort Worth, Texas, donde comenzó una nueva banda llamada Teleo

I had no idea the singer was now the lead singer of The Wedding. I LOVE The Wedding, I've seen them twice, about to b 3 times. I have this Letter Kills album and it's great! It was pretty much the label's fault for them breaking up, but if u like this stuff, u'll like The Wedding's stuff too!!!

I found their CD in my local record store's two-for-a-dollar bin one day; I just picked up a bunch of CDs because at 5 cents a song, you really can't go wrong. I'm glad I picked up The Bridge. Great stuff, great stuff. "Hold My Heart (Part One)" really stands out for me. I tried uploading some of their stuff to YouTube, but their record label took it down before it even processed, so they might still have some sort of contract with them (I can't see them being that concerned about a small broken-up band that can't tour or produce more albums for them).
