Late of the Pier son una banda de cuatro integrantes formada en Castle Donington, Inglaterra, en el año 2005. Su estilo mezcla distintas influencias de electrónica con rock alternativo y gracias a una arrebatadora imagen visual (basada en geometrías, fosforescencias, torsos desnudos y espejos con propiedades telequinéticas), su retrofuturismo ha conquistado a indie-kids y clubbers por igual. Los arrolladores singles 
The Bears Are Coming y el tremendo Heartbeat (Cenzo Townshend Version) salen disparados de una coctelera que agita y vomita a Klaxons, Gary Numan y Led Zeppelin, y que se llama Fantasy Black Channel (08).
Se estrenaron con 14 canciones en el llamado Zarcorp Demo y su primer single fue,Space and the Woods/A Heartbeat. A Flicker. A Line que salió a la venta en marzo de 2007. Su segundo sencillo, Bathroom Gurgle/VW, fue producido por Erol Alkan y se lanzó en Septiembre de 2007 en el sello Moshi Moshi. Fue re-editado en Octubre del 2008 con nuevas remezclas.
Su tercer sencillo,The Bears Are Coming, salió a la venta en Marzo del 2008 tras firmar un contrarto con Parlophone Records. Su cuarto y más reciente sencillo fueron las re-ediciones de Space and the Woods/Focker el 19 de mayo de 2008.
Su álbum debut, Fantasy Black Channel, salió a la venta el 11 de agosto de 2008.
