My favorite album of KJ along with Brighter Than A Thousand Suns.

synthpop? I thought more of new wave when listening to this album. I think the songs got that new wave-ish touch. Not that this is a bad thing though...And as long as I can hear the bass guitar I am happy. :-D

Also for me this was the first KJ album to hear. Imagine how surprised I was when I found their later, heavier stuff. Couldn't belive its the same band!

I discovered Killing Joke through this album and still think it is their best stuff ever:)

If it's sort of synthpop, so what? Killing Joke's music was always all over the wave/punk/electronic/alt spectrum, which is cool, as the most important thing is the kick-ass sounds they created with it. Call it synthpostpunkpop, or call it "purple" even...just freaking enjoy the music.

Been hesitating to check this out, but I'm diggin' it now. Still pretty wicked, even if it's not as daring. Jaz's voice throughout is fantastic.

akatian - oh, i love synthpop, don't get me wrong... i was just ranting at someone who said it sounded like synthpop. i agree, purists are very limiting... but it seems most people who like KJ like a lot of other varied 80s bands because the KJ sound is all over the place anyway.

I'm lucky having lived in the 'Eighties'. A great record!

Awesomeness. They made a pop record and still sounded like themselves, how many bands can pull that off?

"ummm, this is NOT synthpop. a pure synthpop fan prolly wouldn't touch this band with a 10-foot pole... they're too dark & varied" I'm a huge synthpop fan and I, obviously, like KJ. Far from all synthpop sounds the same, and who the hell limits themselves to one genre anyay? "Purists" always suck, no matter what their genre of preference is. :P

Definitely not synthpop. It's still post punk, just not as vitriolic; iBauhaus worship if anything.

ummm, this is NOT synthpop. a pure synthpop fan prolly wouldn't touch this band with a 10-foot pole... they're too dark & varied (you want more synthy KJ, try Brighter Than a 1000 Suns, which i LOVE). you hardly notice the synths on this album anyway except "Love like blood" & "80s" cuz they're catchy, i guess... please, give KJ more credit than that :-P ANYWAY, i LOVE this album... 1st KJ album i heard (almost 10 years ago), still my favorite album, & i can't get enuff of it!!!

Geordie has a great guitar style and sound. He has a very cool stage presence too. Can't wait to see them live in LA tonight.

I'm guessing when the label gave permission to put it up or whatever, they screwed it up.
