Una de las parejas más polémicas de la música. Mientras que John ya tenía una carrera llena de éxitos en el plano comercial formando parte del grupo The Beatles, Yoko era una artista plástica no tan conocida. La unión de ambos hizo que saliera aún más el espíritu rebelde de Lennon, que consideraba a Yoko su musa e insistía en incluírla en las grabaciones del cuarteto.Esto motivó enormes discusiones, en especial con Paul McCartney, que terminaron siendo parte de los motivos de rompimiento de la banda.
Tras la separación de los Beatles, John y Yoko forman la Plastic Ono Band, y continúan causando polémicas, hasta el nacimiento de su único hijo, Sean. Tras esto Lennon se retira de la vida pública por 5 años, para finalmente regresar con uno de sus mejores albumes: Double Fantasy. Este fue su último disco, y el final de un binomio polémico, intenso y muy creativo.
