Tons of people have covered this song actually, Janis Joplin being one of them. The song was originally wrote for Aretha Franklin and she turned it down, it was then picked up by Dusty Springfield, only after it was popular did Franklin sing it as well. But, as I said, many many people have done a cover of this song, including Janis Joplin.

It's interesting how people have listened to this song 19000 times when I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist. I scoured the internet, just to be sure, and in all the cases I found, it was a Dusty Springfield recording tagged as being Janis Joplin. Soooo weird.
