It is not "fake", whatever you mean by that. sakamotocross is attempting to be "funny" in a very boring and nerdy way. It's just a classic case of having too much spare time and I'm sure you'll find similar "funny" posts by him on other artists here on lastfm if you care to look.
On the other hand, Radioactive/Fallout/Phoenix/Particles/etc. is a big fake. They are evil bootleggers. Oh, what has this world come to? Go out and find yourself an original 1969 pressing of the LP. Then you'll avoid night sweats from anxiety over something as important as this. I wish you a good night's sleep.
I'm afraid not, TettraVaal. The thing is, there really was a duo called Jan & Lorraine, but they only ever recorded a handful of demos for ABC Records in the late '60s, and they never cut a proper album. The Gypsy People album was recorded in 2005-2006 by a group of session musicians hired by Radioactive/Fallout Records to recreate the spirit of the demos (which had been heavily bootlegged since the '90s). Press releases and liner notes for the 2006 "reissue" claim that it was recorded in 1969, and Fallout even distributed a limited edition of "vintage vinyl" to complete the illusion. It may have been unethical for Fallout to pass off the modern album as an authentic "lost classic", but Lorraine Lefevre gave her consent to the project, and I think the quality of the music speaks for itself. Reissue labels pull this stunt more often than you'd think.
