Uno de los mejores y más conocidos discos de Iron Maiden, editado en 1984… Se trata de uno de los discos más rápidos y melódicos del grupo, incidiendo aun más en la línea de los anteriores The Number Of The Beast y Piece Of Mind. Sus dos primeros temas, Aces High y 2 Minutes To Midnight, son himnos del heavy metal, y Rime Of The Ancient Mariner con sus más de 13 minutos de duración y su virtuoso desarrollo era una genialidad sin precedentes en el estilo.
Merecen también mención las potentes Poweslave y Back In The Village.

Probably their best album. I first heard Maiden when I was like 7 years old or something. And yesterday I listened to this album for the first time in years (I'm 21 now), and it's still great! Although I have to agree with IronPenguin that it is indeed a bit inconsistent, but the tracks he mentioned pretty much overshadows that fact!

I know it's a bit of a cliche to say so, but to me there are 4 absolute classics here (Aces, Midnight, Powerslave and Mariner) and 4 good-but-not-classic tracks that make the album feel a bit inconsistent for me.
