Herman Düne es un dúo formado por David-Ivar y Neman Herman Düne (tras la marcha de André, hermano de David-Ivar) que practica un folk-soul acústico inspirado en Van Morrison y en Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers. Están íntimamente relacionados con la escena del antifolk neoyorquino y la estética lo-fi, aunque su disco «Giant» lo han editado a través de una multinacional discográfica, llegando a un público mucho más amplio que con sus trabajos anteriores.

Is there anybody that really know the reason why the split ? about their nationality i'd like to say: their life and their music is denying the concept of nationality itself. they are the quintessence of contemporary trobadours stateless rambling and singing across the globe. anyway, here my guesses about their roots by listening to their lyrics: their mum is/was an artist coming from a cultivated swedish family, lived a for a long time abroad especially in France, their dad is/was a doctor, maybe french. they seem to have a connection with jewish culture (maybe through their dad?). of course they are not American, as u could tell by their not-native English accent but they are fascinated by American popular culture and they spent a lot of time in the US, especially and NYC. Now Yaya (David) is living in Paris and André in Berlin. As I told u these are just guesses, so if u can confirm or add, would be nice.
