Hellyeah es una fusión entre dos integrantes de la banda Mudayne y el baterista de la banda Pantera y su proyecto alterno Damage plan, también figuran miembros de la banda Nothingface. Así pueden imaginarse la magnitud de talentos que posee esta excelente fusion metalera, definitivamente de lo mejor que nos da este año 2007, ya que es bueno poder escuchar música fresca y nueva con tan buenos integrantes de legendarias bandas como Pantera y Damage plan.
Es considerado técnicamente esta fusión como «supergrupo».

Gotta say the NEW CLIPS sound really awesome! They may finally be taking a quantum leap on this new record as I hoped they would. First was a solid record, Stampede was a bit better. The new songs sound fast, intense and they said they wanted to get darker. 2 years ago I remember 'Zilla saying he would like to become more technical. I have a strong feeling this will be the record a lot of people have waited for! Finally the combination of Pantera + Mudvayne + Nothingface

In a Playboy interview with Metallica, James said of Jason wanting to do a side project: "When someone does a side project, it takes away from the strength of Metallica." Newsted countered his statement by citing Hetfield's contributions to other musical outlets. Hetfield replied, "My name isn't on those records. And I'm not out trying to sell them" and pondered questions such as "Where would it end? Does he start touring with it? Does he sell shirts? Is it his band?" Chad and Greg have made a poor decision imo. Maybe they'll come around. If not, I believe Ryan and Matt are talented enough to do their own things.

I think its put up or shut up time for them with this THIRD album, they need to show off some of their chops, on Twitter Chad said it'll be the heaviest and how badass it was sounding. I've always supported Hellyeah but if this new record doesn't surpass the self-titled and Stampede by a TON then I think they should put an end to this fun-thing and put their time into more serious bands... (MUDVAYNE, etc...) The cool-party vibe thing is great but it can get old, I want to hear one of the best things any of these guys has ever made quite frankly
